CHICAGO — Police say armed robbers on the Near West Side are knocking on doors to find their victims.

The masked men knock on residential doors, show their guns and then demand money, police said in an alert issued Saturday.

Recent robberies occurred about 9:45 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of North Hoyne Avenue and about 6:05 p.m. Thursday in the 1900 block of West Maypole Avenue, officials said.

Descriptions of the offenders range from a single gunman to a group of four wearing black ski masks, the alert said. They are described as black men, 25 years old, 5-foot-8 and 170 pounds.

Police ask anyone with information to call 312-747-8380.
