Sixteen People Temporarily Displaced by Auburn Gresham Apartment Fire

CHICAGO — Sixteen people, including three children, were temporarily displaced in an early Tuesday morning fire in a five-story apartment building in Auburn Gresham, according to the fire department.

The fire, which started at 2:54 a.m., in the 1800 block of West 79th Street was confined to a single unit, the department said.

The flames were quelled by 3:25 a.m.

No one was injured, authorities said.
