HYDE PARK — Two high school students from the University of Chicago Laboratory School were robbed at gunpoint on Tuesday.
An African-American man of indeterminate age armed with a handgun got out of a white four-door car and demanded the student’s property at 3:40 p.m. on the 5500 block of South Kimbark Avenue, University of Chicago police said.
The man, who was about 5-foot-9 and 180 pounds, took one student’s cell phone before leaving in the same car, said Bob Mason, a university of police spokesman.
Mason said police have not taken any suspects into custody.
