LINCOLN PARK — After being open for less than a year, TruHarmony Yoga's Lincoln Park studio shut down Monday.

The owner of the shop, Megan Chappell, sent an email to members notifying them of the closing, giving them five days notice to come in and pick up their mats.

"I imagine many of you are in shock as you read this," the email read.

Chappell opened the Lincoln Park TruHarmony studio in May at 1123 W. Armitage Ave., after closing her River North location, which she had opened in 2010.

Chappell completely built out Lincoln Park location in the spring, which consisted of a large heated studio and a smaller studio for sculpt classes.

Chappell, who could not be reached for comment, told members in an email that there will be no refunds for packages purchased for the studio, but members will be able to use their credits at classes taught by Chappell at various studios around the city.

"TruHarmony Yoga, Inc. isn't 'closing' - instead, the physical space itself will no longer exist," the email read.

Chappell is a Nike ambassador and will be teaching complementary classes at Nike Training Club at 833 W. Armitage Ave. through Jan. 1, 2014, until she begins holding classes at other studios in the city.
