CHICAGO — A teenager was shot while the car in which he was riding was stopped at a red light in Austin Saturday morning, police said.

The incident occurred about 3:40 a.m. in the 5700 block of West Chicago Avenue, said Janel Sedevic, a police spokeswoman.

A black car pulled up next to another car and shot in, wounding an 18-year-old passenger in his right leg.

The driver took him to West Suburban Hospital where the man is in "stable" condition.
