Armed Robber Strikes Twice in Gage Park Alleys, Police Say

CHICAGO — Authorities are looking for an armed robber who is believed to have stolen money from two victims in Gage Park alleys Friday morning.

In the two incidents, the man approached garages in alleys and demanded money from victims by threatening them with a gun, according to a police alert. The man then searched the victims' pockets before leaving the scene.

The first incident occurred in the 5200 block of South Fairfield Avenue at 9:33 a.m. Friday.

Just 22 minutes later and a half-mile away, a similar incident occurred in the 5200 block of South Troy Street.

The suspect is described as African-American, 16-23 years old, 5-foot-7 to 6-feet tall and 150-170 pounds.
