CHICAGO — A man who was shot while beating his girlfriend was among at least four people wounded in shootings Wednesday night and Thursday.

• About 1:15 a.m. Thursday, a 27-year-old man walked into Saint Bernard Hospital with a gunshot wound in his forearm, said Officer Jose Estrada, a police spokesman.

The man claimed he was standing in the 100 block of West 63rd Street in Greater Grand Crossing when a black four-door car pulled up alongside him. Someone inside yelled gang slogans and opened fire.

The victim, who cops called a documented gang member, was listed in good condition Thursday.

• Just before 1 a.m. Thursday, a 43-year-old man was shot in his ear during a physical fight with his girlfriend, Estrada said.

According to cops, the man and his girlfriend, 57, were arguing in South Shore in the 7800 block of South Cregier Avenue. The fight escalated and the man began punching his girlfriend, Estrada said.

He pulled a gun, Estrada said, and threatened to use it on his girlfriend. During a struggle that ensued, the gun discharged, and the man was shot in his ear.

The woman was treated at Jackson Park Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the man was treated and released from Stroger Hospital.

He is currently in police custody, and charges are pending. Police recovered a gun on the scene, Estrada said.

• About 12:40 a.m. Thursday, a 37-year-old man was shot in his jaw when three men forced their way into his apartment in the 6400 block of South Lowe Avenue in Englewood, Estrada said.

During a physical struggle, one of the intruders fired a handgun, striking the victim. The three men ran away, and the victim was treated at Advocate Christ Medical Center.

Police weren't sure early Thursday what motived the break-in. Detectives believe it could've been gang-related.

• A 22-year-old man was shot in his right leg in a West Englewood parking lot about 10:25 p.m. Wednesday, Estrada said. The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center after the shooting, which occurred in the 6900 block of South Ashland Avenue.
