Things to Do in Lincoln Park and Old Town This Weekend

CHICAGO — Some of the things on tap for Lincoln Park and Old Town this weekend include electronic music shows, Galway Arms' Ribfest and a children's puppet show.

Music

Nightmares On Wax with Striz and Abstract Science DJs at Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave., 10 p.m. Friday

English DJ and electronic artist Nightmares On Wax (also known as George Evelyn) puts on a show with Chicago's own Striz and Abstract Science DJs. Tickets are $18 online, $20 at the door and limited to those 21 and older.

Clark and John Hopkins with Nathan Fake at Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave., 9 p.m. Saturday

English electronic musicians Clark (Stephen Clark), John Hopkins and Nathan Fake continue their U.S. tour with a stop in Chicago. Tickets are $17 online or $20 at the door, and the show is restricted to those 21 and older.

Food

Fourth Annual Galway Arms Ribfest, 2442 N. Clark St., 6 p.m. Saturday

Who says ribfests are just for summer? On Saturday, Galway Arms plans to serve up ribs that have been smoked for 10 hours along with slow-cooked beef brisket, beer-can chicken roasted and steamed atop Daisy Cutter cans along with sides. The event will include an "All You Can Eat Ribs" competition, live music at 8 p.m. and special drafts.

Sunday Night Wine & Cheese at Da'Vine Wine Bar at Whole Foods, 1550 N. Kingsbury St., 4 p.m. Sunday

Each week, the Whole Foods bar creates wine and cheese pairings. The event is $25.

For Kids and Families

Miss Jamie from the Farm, Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, 2430 N. Cannon Drive, 11-11:30 a.m. Saturday

A sing-along puppet show teaches kids about healthy eating and sustainable farming. The event, meant for young children through age 7, is free with museum admission or attendance at Green City Market.
