OLD TOWN — Second City is bringing a powerhouse lineup and one of the Internet's most famous cats to its annual 24-hour marathon of comedy and music fundraiser.

The Second City That Never Sleeps: 24 Hour lineup includes Saturday Night Live and Portlandia star Fred Armisen, feline phenom Lil Bub and musicians Bob Mould, Bonnie Prince Billy, Sally Timms and Chicago's J.C. Brooks & The Uptown Sound.

Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy, who has performed at the event in the past, will play a set live from Los Angeles via video chat.

Also performing via video chat will be Bush and St. Vincent, and, for the first time in 15 years, Louise Post and Nina Gordon of Veruca Salt will play together.

The event, which kicks off at 5 p.m. Dec. 17, is an all-ages show.

Auction items that will be available include two tickets to an "SNL" taping and a recording session with the legendary Steve Albini at his private Chicago studio.

In the past, the auction has raised as much as $89,000.

Tickets are $20 and will be available at the door of The Second City e.t.c. Theatre, 1608 N. Wells St.

The event, formerly known as The Second City That Never Sleeps: Letters to Santa, will support Letters to Santa. and Chicago's Onward Neighborhood House.

Audience members at the 24-hour marathon will have first dibs to purchase tickets to an exclusive evening of improv and sketch comedy at the UP Comedy Club on Jan. 6 featuring "SNL" cast members, Second City alumni and a "living room"-style performance by Jeff Tweedy.
