LINCOLN SQUARE — Chicago dodged major damage from Sunday's devastating storms, but our neighbors Downstate weren't so lucky.

Liberty Tax Service offices throughout the city have organized a drive to collect much-needed supplies for those who lost their homes and belongings in the storms.

Items can be dropped off from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Wednesday at Liberty Tax locations around Chicago.

Suggested donations include canned food (don't forget the can opener), bottled water, diapers, infant formula, tarps, flashlights and batteries, and even toys.

Cleaning supplies are also welcome: garbage bags, mops, buckets, sponges, work gloves and bleach.

Pets are suffering too; dog and cat food donations will also be accepted.
