Two Men Tried to Lure Girl in Humboldt Park, Police Say

HUMBOLDT PARK — Police are asking residents in the Humboldt Park and Logan Square area to be on alert after two men tried to lure a girl into their vehicles on Halloween.

According to a Chicago Police Department alert released late Thursday night, a girl was was walking in the 3400 block of West Wabansia Avenue about 12:15 p.m. Oct. 31 when a man drove up to her in a light-colored, four-door Nissan Altima and offered her a ride.

She ignored him, and he drove off.

Just after that, another man drove up in a light-colored SUV and said "Do you need a ride? Come on, jump in."

The girl ignored the second man, and he drove off, heading west on Wabansia Avenue, the alert said.

Both men are described as Hispanic with dark hair. The man driving the SUV also had a mustache, the alert said.
