WEST PULLMAN — A man was hospitalized early Thursday morning after he was shot in his home on the Far South Side, police said.

The 49-year-old man was home about 5 a.m. in the 12400 block of South Stewart Avenue in the city's West Pullman neighborhood when he was shot in his shoulder, said Officer Amina Greer, a Chicago Police Department spokeswoman.

The bullet apparently was fired from outside the home. The man was taken to Roseland Community Hospital where his condition stabilized, police said.

No one was in custody in connection with the shooting as of early Thursday morning.
