CHICAGO — A man was killed and another man was injured after a shooting at an Englewood gas station near a CPS "Safe Passage" route Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The shooting occurred about 2:30 p.m. at a Citgo gas station at 810 W. 59th St., according to Officer Veejay Zala, a Chicago Police Department spokesman.

A 21-year-old man was shot in his left knee and was found dead at the scene. He was identified as Devorite Diggins, of the 6200 block of South Aberdeen Avenue, the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said.

Another 21-year-old man was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he is in "stable" condition after being shot in his arm.
