CHICAGO — Lincoln Park no-kill pet shelter PAWS Chicago is auctioning off an exclusive evening with two Chicago stars.
Dubbed "A Night of Folly," 12 lucky winners will enjoy an evening of "thought-provoking cuisine and innovative entertainment" from Chef Curtis Duffy of Grace and Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan. The soiree will take place a North Shore home described as a "true masterpiece."
The only way to be a part of the event is to bid on the silent auction at Friday night's black-tie PAWS Chicago Fur Ball benefit at the Drake Hotel.
“The dinner Billy and I will be auctioning will be a culinary experience like no other,” Duffy said. “I want to have an extraordinary event for people who are supporting such an extraordinary organization.”
Duffy is one of Chicago's most acclaimed chefs, working under Charlie Trotter, working at Alinea with Graham Achatz and last year opening Grace in the Loop. His food, one scribe wrote, "weakens the knees."
“Our goal is to create an unforgettable, one-of-a-kind evening that couldn't be repeated if you tried," said Corgan in a statement. “There will be music, theatre, music-theatre, and theatrical musings that challenge both the intellect and senses. A true night of folly brought right to you."
