COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — A 28-year-old woman viciously beat an 82-year-old man after he struck her companion with his minivan, prosecutors alleged Sunday.

The man turned onto East 79th Street around 9:40 p.m. Thursday, when he struck a woman with his van. When he pulled over to help her, he was dragged from his car, kicked, stabbed and punched by Sophia Body and another woman, said Assistant State's Attorney Elizabeth Dibler.

When police arrived to the 900 block of East 79th Street, they found the man bleeding from the right side of his head with cuts on his back. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in stable condition and a Stanley screwdriver was found at the scene, police said.

"Yeah I pulled his a-- out the car and beat the f--- out of him," Body allegedly told police on the scene.

Body, of the 8100 block of South Maryland Avenue in Chatham, was charged with aggravated battery of a senior and attempted first-degree murder, both felonies. She was ordered held on $2 million bond.

The other woman is expected to appear in Bond Court Monday, Dibler said.
