CHICAGO — A man in a pickup truck tried to abduct a 23-year-old woman in Brighton Park Wednesday, police said.

The woman was walking alone in the 2500 block of West 42nd Street about 6:30 p.m. when a man hopped out of a truck, grabbed her and tried to drag her toward the truck. The woman was able to break free, police said, and the man drove off.

Cops described the man as Hispanic with a dark complexion. He's between 43 and 47 years old with a thick, dark mustache. He was wearing a black skullcap, dark-colored "mechanic style" coat, light blue jeans and beige work boots dotted with white paint. The man appeared to be dirty from working.

Police didn't know the make, model or color of the pickup truck.

Anyone with information should contact detectives at 312-747-8380.
