Car Hits Deer on Outbound Kennedy Expressway

CHICAGO — A car hit a deer on the outbound Kennedy Expressway Friday morning, state police said.

The incident occurred near the Cumberland Avenue exit about 7:20 a.m., police said.

About 20 minutes later, the deer's body remained on the left shoulder while the car that hit it was on the right shoulder. As of 8:30 a.m., the scene was cleared up.

State police said collisions with deer are rare near Chicago.
