Things to Do in Lincoln Park and Old Town This Weekend

LINCOLN PARK — Some picks for what to do this weekend in Lincoln Park and Old Town include music and theater performances, a post-Halloween bash and a Dia de Los Muertos event.

Performances

COLEctive Notions, Fassaes White Box Theater at the Drucker Center, 1535 N. Dayton St. Performances are at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 7 p.m. Sunday.

Local dance company the Dance COLEctive, under the direction of choreographer Margi Cole, showcases new work in its annual showcase. General admission is $15.

John Primer and the Real Deal Blues Band at B.L.U.E.S., 2519 N. Halsted St. Performances are at 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Chicago blues artist John Primer plays with the Real Deal Blues Band at the venue on Friday and Saturday. Cover is $10.

The Limousines, Mona and Dresses at Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave., 9 p.m. Friday.

Tickets to see the San Francisco Bay Area indie electronica band The Limousines play along with Ohio rock band Mona are $15. Opening for the bands is Portland duo Dresses. The show is restricted to those 18 and older.

Mark Normand at Zanies, 1548 N Wells St. Performances are at 7 p.m., 9 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

New York comedian Mark Normand, who appeared on "Conan" in February, performs standup this weekend at Zanies. Tickets are $25, plus two minimum orders of food or drinks.

Lee Fields & The Expressions at Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave., 9 p.m. Saturday.

Long-time soul musician Lee Fields performs with The Expressions. Tickets are $18 for those 21 and older.

Seasonal events

Nu-loween at Neo, 2350 N. Clark St., 10 p.m. Friday.

For those who aren't ready to change out of their Halloween getups and others who are just getting their festivities started this weekend, Nu: The Outer Space Disco Dancing Society of Chicago is having a costume party and bash at Neo.

Dia de los Muertos Family Art Workshop at Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, 2430 N. Cannon Drive, noon-2 p.m. Saturday.

Families can join Pilsen gallery owner Leticia Rodarte and decorate masks for Dia de los Muertos. The event is free with the price of museum admission.
