OLD TOWN — Many of Chicago's broadcast news stars joined the host of NPR's "Wait Wait ... Don't Tell Me!" to both show off the latest fitness fashion and raise money for charity Tuesday night.

The fashion show staged by Fleet Feet Chicago at UP Comedy Club, 230 W. North Ave., featured fitness looks suitable for the chilly fall and upcoming winter from 20 different companies with the proceeds going toward Gilda's Club and Imerman Angels.

Local celebs who strutted their stuff included Brooke Weisbrod of ESPN, Cheryl Scott of NBC Chicago, ABC-7's Michelle Gallardo and John Garcia, Lisa Byington of the Big Ten Network, world class jazz trumpeter Corey Wilkes, Kip Lewis of Comcast SportsNet and more.

The "See And Be Seen" show marked its seventh year Tuesday night with Fleet Feet Chicago owner Dave Zimmer playing host.

"We wanted to show something a little bit more in 2008," he said. "Capris were not even really the standard at that point. The suburban soccer moms were wearing capris and tops to not work out. That was the fashion."

Things have progressed immensely, with many of the vendors showing off high-tech jackets and layers upon layers of reflective and sleek clothing.

"We now have a really strong incredibly cool look in terms of running fashion," Zimmer said.
