LOGAN SQUARE — It's official. Logan Square's popular Lula Cafe is teaming up with Logan Square's popular Fat Rice to become the "House of Hunan Human" for Halloween.

After teasing fans with two clues on social media — first a cryptic fake newspaper article, then a video featuring a fortune cookie and rice basket — Lula Cafe released a third image on Wednesday that confirmed it will be partnering with Fat Rice for its annual Halloween bash.

The restaurant also borrowed Chinatown eatery Lao Hunan's tagline "Serving People," but gave it a decidedly more sinister twist.

A Lula Cafe spokeswoman, Shelby Allison, said the House of Human will be a "zombie-run dim sum restaurant" for the duration of the annual Halloween party, from 7 to 11 p.m. Thursday.

The price is $35 at the door, plus gratuity, and there will be no reservations and no entry past 10 p.m., she said.

The beverage menu will include four cocktails — two each from Lula Cafe and Fat Rice — as well as something called a "Mao Tai."

There will be no substitutions in the special menu, Allison warned, so the event is for "omnivores only."
