CHICAGO — Wisconsin police are questioning a man in connection with the death of a woman whose body was found on Sunday in the trunk of a car near the Near West Side Greyhound bus depot, authorities said.

The body of the 30-year-old Wisconsin woman, later identified by authorities as Erin Ziemendorf, was discovered in the 500 block of South Jefferson Street around 6:15 p.m., said Officer Veejay Zala, a police spokesman.

Ziemendorf, of West Allis, Wis., was pronounced dead on the scene at 7:25 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Kenosha Police Lt. Brad Kemen said on Monday that they were questioning a 40-year-old man who was believed to have a "dating relationship" with the woman. He had not been charged as of Monday morning.

An autopsy found that Ziemendorf died of blunt neck trauma in an assault, and her death was ruled a homicide, according to the morgue.
