CHICAGO — A Rogers Park man has been charged with murder in the September 2012 death of his 4-month-old son, police said Thursday.

Rahsaan Condiff, 25, was arrested Monday, police said. He is accused of killing his baby son Clayton, authorities said.

Condiff and the infant's mother told authorities they found Clayton unresponsive in their home in the 7500 block of North Seeley Avenue about 12:45 p.m. on Sept. 2, 2012, police said.

Clayton was taken to St. Francis Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to police.

Cops said Condiff, now of the 1500 Block of West Pratt Boulevard, was expected to appear in court Thursday.

In February, the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services completed an investigation of Condiff and Clayton's mother and found evidence of abuse and neglect, DCFS spokeswoman Karen Hawkins said.

In addition to finding evidence that Clayton's parents abused and neglected him before his death, there was also evidence that they abused and neglected Clayton's surviving twin, Hawkins said.

The twin sibling has been placed in the care of relatives under a DCFS-monitored plan, Hawkins said.

It did not appear that Clayton's mother has been charged in the case, according to police.
