CHICAGO — A school bus carrying four students and two adults was rear-ended in Pill Hill Tuesday afternoon, but no serious injuries were reported.
The crash occurred at the intersection of South Jeffrey Boulevard and East 93rd Street shortly before 4 p.m., said Officer Veejay Zala, a police spokesman.
The bus was attempting to turn on to 93rd Street when a car rammed it from behind, according to David Miranda, a CPS spokesman.
Four students from Burnham Mathematics and Science Academy were aboard the bus — as well as one bus aide and the driver. It was unclear who was in the car.
Zala said the bus driver, four students and two occupants from the car were taken to area hospitals for "minor injuries."
Those hospitals included Advocate Trinity Hospital, Advocate Christ Medical Center, South Shore Hospital and Jackson Park Hospital, according to fire officials.
There were no serious injuries and "everybody's fine," Miranda said. "They’re all completely OK."
Miranda said was common procedure for children injured during bus crashes to be taken to hospitals — no matter how minor the injury.
