MAYFAIR — Take the giant party that is Munich's Oktoberfest, combine it with the friendly spirit of an Irish pub and you get the idea behind McToberfest.

The Irish American Heritage Center will host its third annual Celtic-Bavarian mashup from 7 p.m. to midnight Oct. 25.

The center's Fifth Province Pub will be transformed into a German beer hall for the occasion, with both German and Irish food and drinks on the menu. Feel free to mix and match a brat with a pint of Guinness or fish 'n' chips with a Stiegl.

Live music will represent both cultures. Jimmy's Bavarians will bring the oompah-pah, playing old standards as well as the latest German songs. The Celtic Aires — Mary Mayer-McHugh, Paul McHugh and Martin Doyle — excel at traditional Irish tunes.

Tickets to McToberfest are $10 and can be purchased at the door, 4626 N. Knox Ave.
