CHICAGO — A Logan Square man who is a convicted sex offender is scheduled to appear in court Saturday after allegedly sexually abusing a woman on a CTA "L" train, police said.

Angel Echevarria, 37, of the 2600 block of North Harding Avenue, was arrested Thursday at the Fullerton "L" stop. The woman he allegedly sexually abused on a train two days earlier identified him, and he was taken into custody, police said.

He was charged with criminal sexual abuse and failure to register as a sex offender. He was convicted of a sex offense against a 12-year-old when he was 21, according to state records.

The Tribune reported Echevarria was ordered held on $250,000 bond.
