CHICAGO — A South Austin woman has been charged in the stabbing death of a 45-year-old woman Friday.
Debra Jones, of the 1100 block of North Mayfield Avenue, was charged with first-degree murder after being arrested for fatally stabbing Shounya Bennett.
Police said Bennett was stabbed in her neck and chin early Friday morning during "a domestic-related" incident in an apartment in the 1100 block of North Mayfield Avenue. Bennett died at the scene, and Jones was taken into custody.
She is expected to appear in court Saturday.
