CHICAGO — A woman and a man were wounded in separate shootings on the South and West Sides Wednesday night.

The latest occurred at 11:40 p.m. in the 400 block of North Avers Avenue in East Garfield Park, said Officer Ron Gaines, a police spokesman.

With a bullet in his leg, a 26-year-old man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was hospitalized in "stable" condition.

After an earlier shooting, which police believe occurred in the 8100 block of South Exchange Avenue in South Chicago, a woman walked into Advocate Trinity Hospital about 9:30 p.m. shot in her abdomen.

She is also in "stable" condition, and no additional information was available for that shooting.

Neither of the victims were cooperating with cops, police said.
