CHICAGO — A man charged in the early Saturday morning murder of a teen in one of Wicker's Park popular bar strips was ordered held on $1 million bond Sunday.

Manuel Gonzalez, 29, of the 2600 block of North Sacramento Avenue in Logan Square, appeared court Sunday after being charged with the first-degree murder of 19-year-old Miguel Delgado and two counts of attempted murder.

Delgado was found shot in his head about 2:30 a.m. Saturday in the 1500 block of North Milwaukee Avenue.

Assistant State's Attorney Christina Brewer said Gonzalez and two other men got into an argument with Delgado and two other people, aged 18 and 20, about a "rival gang affiliation". After Delgado threw a punch of one of the men, Gonzalez pulled out a gun and shot Delgado in the head, she said.

Gonzalez also fired shots at Delgado's friends, she said.

After allegedly killing Delgado, Gonzalez and his accomplices ran from the scene, but were stopped by police nearby. Four shell casings from a .380-mm weapon were found at the scene, and police found a .380-mm weapon near where Gonzalez was arrested, she said.

She said several videos captured the confrontation and shooting. Multiple witnesses identifed Gonzalez as the shooter, according to Brewer.

He was the second person killed in a gang-related shooting in the neighborhood this month. On Sept. 6, Emmanuel "Face" Bass was shot and died Wednesday.

Cops said Saturday's shooting wasn't a retaliation for that shooting.

Gonzalez was arrested Saturday and identified by witnesses through a series of line-ups, police said.

Two other men were questioned by police but were let go without charges related to Delgado's death.

Several of Delgado's family members appeared emotional at Gonzalez's hearing. One yelled "murderer!" after bail was set. Another family member, who said she was Delgado's cousin, described him as "a good kid" who worked two jobs.
