Man Charged with Attempted Murder in Christmas Day Shooting

CHICAGO — A North Lawndale man has been charged with attempted murder for a Christmas Day shooting last year.

Jesse Thomas, 22, of the 1800 block of South Karlov Avenue, was charged with attempted murder, aggravated domestic battery and aggravated battery by discharging a firearm.

Thomas allegedly shot a 27-year-old woman in her head about 9:30 p.m. last December 25, police said. The woman was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital after the shooting, which occurred in the 1900 block of South Harding Avenue.

Thomas was expected in bond court Saturday.
