CHICAGO — Two North Side Kmart stores were evacuated Saturday after an anonymous person called in bomb threats, but no credible threat was found, police said.

Bomb threats were called into the stores, located in the 5000 block of West Elston Avenue and the 3400 block of West Addison Street.

"Police responded and took the appropriate cautionary measures," said Officer Veejay Zala, a police spokesman.

After each threat was investigated, police determined there was no bomb, he said. Managers at both stores declined to comment.

A Kmart in Lombard was also threatened, according to reports.

Earlier this week, two South Side Kmart stores were evacuated after someone called demanding $500 gift cards. Neither of those threats were found to be credible, police said.
