COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — A Chicago Bears fan, evidently desperate to score tickets to a game, allegedly paid $400 for a pair of tickets only to discover they were fakes.

Convicted ticket scalper, Romez Banks, 38, is charged with forgery after prosecutors say he sold the fraudulent Bears tickets on Sept. 5 to a buyer in Burbank, according to court records.

A Chicago police unit known as the Robbery, Burglary and Theft Mission Team searched Banks' home in the 3900 block of South Drexel Boulevard and found a computer and iPhone containing emails to the person who bought the fake tickets.

Banks has previously been convicted of ticket scalping and theft by deception.
