'Nicely Dressed' Thief Stealing Office Supplies in the Loop: Cops

CHICAGO — A "nicely dressed" man is stealing supplies from offices in the Loop, police said Friday.

The man illegally enters businesses and checks for unlocked doors into offices. He then makes off with office equipment, police said in a community alert.

The thefts occurred about 1 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of South Riverside Plaza and about 2 p.m. July 31 in the 300 block of West Adams Street, police said.

The man is described as black, 45 to 55 years old, standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 220 to 240 pounds. He is "nicely dressed," and has been captured on security cameras.
