CHICAGO — A man was found with apparent trauma to his head in a building in West Lawn Tuesday, officials said.

Police responded to a call of an unresponsive man in a building in the 6000 block of South Kolmar Avenue about 10:50 a.m. Tuesday, said Officer Veejay Zala, police spokesman.

The man, believed to be in his 30s, was pronounced dead on the scene at 12:20 p.m. It was unknown if the man lived at the address, or what caused the apparent trauma to his head, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

The man's identity was unknown as of Tuesday night. An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday.

The case was proceeding as a death investigation, Zala said.
