CHICAGO — A man was injured Tuesday afternoon after he jumped from a second-story window to escape a home fire in West Garfield Park, officials said.

Flames erupted about 3:15 p.m. in the 2½-story home at 4043 W. Carroll Ave., according to the Chicago Fire Department.

The 30-year-old man was taken to Stroger Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The fire was put out about 3:50 p.m., officials said.

One family was displaced by the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, officials said.

No firefighters were injured fighting this blaze, but a firefighter was injured in an earlier blaze in Wrigleyville Tuesday.
