Cars Burglarized, Stolen in Austin, Cops Warn

CHICAGO — Cars are being burglarized and stolen in Austin, police said Tuesday.

"Victims are legally parking their cars, only to return and find them burglarized or stolen," according to a community alert.

The victims had their car keys with them during the thefts, authorities said.

The burglaries and thefts occurred 10 a.m. Thursday in the 4900 block of West Arthington Street, 8 p.m. Sept. 4 in the 4900 block of West Ferdinand Street and 6 a.m. Aug. 31 in the 700 block of North Central Avenue, police said.
