EDGEBROOK — Break out your lederhosen and get ready to raise a stein of beer.

The second annual Oktoberfest sponsored by the Edgebrook Chamber of Commerce will take place from 5-10 p.m. Friday and from 4-10 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Edgebrook Lutheran Church, 5252 W. Devon Ave.

"Last year was lots of fun," said Jan Burns Kupiec, a member of the Edgebrook Chamber of Commerce board of directors. "We have a great lineup this year."

For many years, the chamber hosted a summer festival, Kupiec said.

"But the weather never cooperated," Kupiec said. "Having an Oktoberfest worked out great last year."

Any proceeds from the event would be shared with the church, or used by the chamber to put on community events in the future, Kupiec said.

There will be a beer tent and food provided by Happy Foods. Bands scheduled to play include The Davenport Project, Big Al's Oompah Band, Leadfoot, Hot Rock and King Fish.
