Robbers Attacking Victims in Armour Square, Police Say

CHICAGO — Police are warning Armour Square residents of recent armed robberies, according to an alert issued Friday.

In the incidents, the robbers steal items from victims by using physical force or showing a weapon, police said.

The robberies occurred about 3 a.m. Monday in the 400 block of West 31st Street and about 1:51 a.m. Aug. 14 in the 3100 block of South Shields Avenue, officials said.

The suspects are described as a black man, 18 to 25 years old, standing 5-foot-7 to 6-foot-3, weighing 170 to 230 pounds and with black hair, and a black woman, 18 to 25 years old, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-9, weighing 130 to 150 pounds and with black hair and a red pony tail, the alert said.
