BRIDGEPORT— One man was killed and two others were wounded in a Bridgeport apartment on South Halsted early Saturday, one of a series of violent incidents in Chicago's neighborhoods this weekend.

At least three people were killed and seven were wounded in the violence — although one of the victims may have shot himself in the foot.

Details of what led to the deadly Bridgeport shootout are unclear, but it played out in an apartment in the 3800 block of South Halsted — and down the street after some men fled.

The dead man — a 21-year-old from south suburban Monee — was found at 2:45 a.m. in the South Halsted apartment. He was identified as Daniel Ortiz.

Police said another 21-year-old man was shot in the head there and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
