Man Stabbed to Death by Four Men in Belmont Cragin

BELMONT CRAGIN— Police are investigating the early Saturday stabbing death of a 21-year-old man who was jumped while walking down the street in Belmont Cragin.

The victim — identified by authorities as Robert Gonzalez, 21 — was on the sidewalk near Central and Barry around 2 a.m. when four men approached.

The group attacked him and stabbed him multiple times. He was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he later died, said Officer Mirabelli.

Gonzalez, of the 2800 block of E. 127th Street, was pronounced dead at 2:47 a.m.
