Off-Duty Cop Attacked While Jogging in North Park

CHICAGO — Police are looking for a man who attacked an off-duty police officer while she was jogging Thursday afternoon.

The incident occurred on the Sauganash Trail in North Park near Bryn Mawr Avenue about 2:50 p.m., police said.

A man grabbed her from behind and forced her to the ground while trying to take off her clothes. The officer yelled for help and the man ran away south on the path toward Bryn Mawr, police said.

The attacker is described as a white Hispanic man about 22 to 26 years old. He is about 5-foot-7 tall, weighs 140 to 150 pounds and has short black hair. He was wearing a gray T-shirt and a blue jeans.
