Man Shot Dead in Back of the Yards

CHICAGO — A man was killed Friday outside his Back of the Yards home, authorities said.

Rico Lawrence, 33, was gunned down about 1:30 p.m. outside his home the 5100 block of South Winchester Avenue, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Lawrence, who was shot in the head, was pronounced dead on the scene about 1:42 p.m., according to the medical examiner's office.

No one was in custody as of Friday night, police said.
