Police Warn of Spike in Robberies in Chicago Lawn, Ashburn

CHICAGO — Police are warning residents of Chicago Lawn and Ashburn of a recent increase in robberies.

In Chicago Lawn, two men take items from victims through physical force. The robberies occurred about 2:27 p.m. and 9:53 p.m. Monday in the 3100 block of West 64th Street, according to a community alert.

In Ashburn, two men approached victims, showed a gun and demanded property, police said.

Those robberies happened about 12:45 p.m. Aug. 8 in 2500 block of West 81st Street, and about 6:20 p.m. Aug. 9 in the 2300 block of West 81st Street, an alert said.
