Man Shot Dead in Morgan Park, Four Others Wounded In Shootings Friday

CHICAGO — A man was killed in Morgan Park and four other people were wounded in shootings Friday afternoon, police said.

A 24-year-old man was fatally shot in the head about 3:10 p.m. in the 1100 block of 111th Street, police said.

He was identified as Kyle Hogan, of the 11800 block of South Campbell Avenue, by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 3:40 p.m.

Four other people were wounded in shootings across the city.

At 3:15 p.m., a 30-year-old man was shot in the leg in the 5900 block of South Spaulding Avenue in Gage Park. He was taken to an area hospital in stable condition, police said.

Also at 3:15 p.m., a 22-year-old man was shot in the right wrist in the 7100 block of South Kedzie Avenue in Chicago Lawn. He walked in to Holy Cross Hospital, police said.

In Brainerd, a woman and man were shot in a possibly drive-by about 1 p.m. in the 9000 block of South Marshfield Avenue.

The 34-year-old man was shot in the buttocks and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in stable condition. The 34-year-old woman suffered a graze wound to her leg and refused medical treatment, police said.
