Teens in Masks Rob Man at Gunpoint on DePaul Campus, Police Said

LINCOLN PARK — Three masked boys in their early teens stuck up a person on the DePaul University campus in Lincoln Park late Monday night, police said.

The suspects, who were described only as black teens between the ages of 13 and 16, were wearing black clothing and masks when they robbed a 24-year-old man near the corner of Kenmore and Belden avenues, police said.

Police said one of the suspects was armed with a handgun when they approached the victim around 11:20 p.m. and demanded valuables.

The suspects stole a laptop from the victim along with various other items, according to police.

The victim was not injured during the robbery.

DePaul University sent out a public safety alert to students and staff Tuesday morning informing them of the robbery and reminding students to walk in groups of use the school's escort service when traveling through the Lincoln Park campus at night.
