CHICAGO — A man died days after he was shot in Archer Heights Saturday, authorities said.

Francisco Chairez-Munoz, 33, was pronounced dead Monday night at 11:40 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. His last known address was in St. Louis, according to the medical examiner's office.

Chairez-Munoz was in a backyard with relatives in the 5100 block of South Kostner Avenue about 2 a.m. Saturday when a man walked up through an alley and began firing shots, striking Chairez-Munoz in his back, police had said.

The shooter fled southbound through the alley, police said, and Chairez-Munoz was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he later died.
