NORTH PARK — Beijo de Chocolat added another armload of awards to its growing list of prizes during the 2013 International Chocolate Salon competition.

Owner Laura Case's confections earned gold (first-place) honors in the white chocolate category for most unique; in the top chocolate bar category for best mixed chocolate bar; and in the bridal category for best dark chocolate, best in salon and top artisan chocolatier.

In total, Beijo nabbed 20 medals across the three categories, including five golds and six silvers.

Case, a graduate of the French Pastry School, opened Beijo at 3334 W. Foster Ave. in 2009.
