Four Wounded in Friday Shootings

CHICAGO — Four people, including a 17-year-old boy, were wounded in separate shootings Friday, police said.

In the most recent incident, two men were seriously injured in a shooting at 6:26 p.m. in the 200 block of West Root Street in Fuller Park, police said.

An 18-year-old man was shot in the head and rushed to Stroger Hospital in serious condition. A 27-year-old man was shot in the back and armpit. He was rushed to Stroger in critical condition, police said.

Earlier, about 5:57 p.m., a 23-year-old man was shot in the 7000 block of South Aberdeen Street in Englewood, authorities said.

The man was shot in the face and taken to Christ Hospital in stable condition, police said.

A 21-year-old man was shot at 12:55 p.m. in the 6900 block of South Stony Island Avenue, said Jose Estrada, a police spokesman.

He was sent to Stroger in serious condition with a bullet wound in his stomach.

Earlier, a 17-year-old boy was sent to Northwestern Memorial Hospital after being shot in his buttocks and both legs, police said.

The shooting occurred in the 2400 block of East 75th Street about 11:40 a.m., police said.
