DOWNTOWN — Ryan Powers isn't trying to keep his secret weapon a secret anymore.
"It's the four guys standing behind me," said Powers, of the musicians that round out his band, Ryan Powers and the Secret Weapons.
Another secret weapon for Powers and his band? Using the city of Chicago as an inspiration.
"It helps me when I reference the romance of the city, it's a good muse in that aspect for sure," said Powers, who said his band plays mostly at venues in and around the city. "Especially spending the nights out that you do when you're in music, it's an inspiration."
Powers, who works in IT by day, was born in a small town in Indiana, but has lived in Chicago for more than a decade.
