CHICAGO — A driver was sent to the hospital after her car flipped over when she crashed into another vehicle in Greater Grand Crossing Monday afternoon, police said.
The crash occurred at 3:48 p.m., when a 33-year-old woman was heading northbound in the 7100 block of South South Chicago Avenue, Officer Veejay Zala, a police spokesman. She was driving in a silver Ford sedan at a high rate of speed, Zala said
The woman hit a car stopped in the left-turn lane on Cottage Grove Avenue, causing the woman's car to flip over.
She was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition, Zala said. There were no other reported injuries.
Police are still considering whether to issue citations in connection with the crash, Zala said.
