Toddler Dies After Being Hit by Car in Archer Heights

CHICAGO — A 3-year-old boy was killed when he was hit by a car in Archer Heights late Saturday night, authorities said.

The accident occurred in the 3900 block of West 47th Street about 10:25 p.m., said Officer Jose Estrada, a police spokesman.

The boy, identified as Jimmy Lomas of suburban Bellwood, was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn at 11:11 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

The driver of the car, Erick Ochoa of Cicero, was ticketed for failing to yield to a pedestrian in the roadway, police said. The investigation is ongoing, cops said.
